WEEK 23

No Witty Title This Week

This week was really slow.
We made sarmale (Romanian Cabbage Rolls) on Tuesday with a member.

I hit my five month mark.
We went to a Chinese restaurant called Latin and they played a bunch of English music that I used to listen to and it was weird.
We bought a bunch of fruit and made a fruit basket for our branch president.
We had a christmas activity for the branch and only like 7 people came.
We delivered cookies to people.
We had Pizza Hut.
I talked to a lady on the bus and I understood everything she said.
Christmas.
It was good.
I talked to my family.
They're in Wisconsin.
It's weird.
Then today we didn't really do anything.
Sorry this is so short but I really just don't feel like typing everything up.

Also I finished Jesus The Christ (it's an 800 page book about Jesus if you didn't know) on Christmas Eve and I'm really proud of that.

Next week is transfer week and I'm getting transferred so I don't actually know when I'll have pday. Maybe Monday; Maybe Tuesday; Maybe just five minutes to let you know I'm not dead. So just so you're aware, I'll be somewhere new next week and might not email at a normal time.
Love y'all.

WEEK 21

Spirit Journey

LUNI 5 DECEMBRIE
So it's tradition in this mission for every missionary to go on a spirit journey and receive a spirit animal. Monday night, Sora Yost took me on a spirit journey. The results were... confusing. We think I have two spirit
animals? Which is weird. But așa este. So my spirit animals are a rabbit and a wolf. Still trying to figure that one out, but they were both definitely there and mean something.

MARTI 6 DECEMBRIE
Tuesday! First we went grocery shopping because we forgot to on Monday..... whoops. Then for lunch we made knockoff Olive Garden chicken gnocchi soup and it was incredibbbbllllllle. We went to go visit a member in a hospital. I still hate Romanian hospitals. Then English! It went so well. We showed the church's new Christmas video, #LightTheWorld (or #LumineazaLumea in Romanian) and our students really liked it.

MIERCURI 7 DECEMBRIE
It snowed Tuesday night. So that was awful. We had lunch with Andreea and she's totally in love and it's adorable but I'm not allowed to say anything else about that. We went to the church and practiced with the primary for the primary program. And by primary I mean Irina (teacher) and her two daughters, Larisa (age 7) and Francesca (age 4). But they know the songs really well, and they're each going to talk about prophets. Then we went to the mall with Irina and her girls and Sora Aleman because Sora Aleman wanted to buy them Christmas dresses. It took FOREVER but it was soooooo much fun.

When we got home, I made the dough and filling for my cranberry orange christmas cookies but we don't have a cookie sheet so they didn't get baked.

JOI 8 DECEMBRIE
We visited a member at his work. We planned for English. Then we went out to lunch at some cute little Italian restaurant. It was așa but the prices were really good, and they gave me enough pasta for three people. We limba studied and then headed to the church to prep for FHE. We did Christmas pictionary! Most things translated okay into Romanian but we really wanted to do Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer and the closest translation we could come up with that wasn't too weird was Bunica A Fost Atacata De Un Ren which literally means grandma got attacked by a reindeer. Our members were entertained.

VINERI 9 DECEMBRIE
District meeting! Basically useless as usual. Then we met with Bianca! It was suuuuuuch a good lesson. We talked about the restoration with her again and she's just such an incredible soul. I love her to pieces. She's in Helaman now in the Book of Mormon and is still set on finishing it and we're so happy for her. Nothing else really notable happened on Friday.

SAMBATA 10 DECEMBRIE
English! I hate English. I borrowed a cookie sheet from our senior couple but then I forgot to set a timer so I burned my cookies :(((( We went to visit Vlad in the evening and a bunch of kids run in the door screaming that there are six Santas outside. So we ran outside and there were six Santas playing instruments and marching down the street!

I filmed a little bit of it and this old baba walked in front of my camera and held up a picture of Jesus and then crossed herself after she walked away and it was really funny. WAIT I FORGOT TO TELL YAL so at vlad's store we armwrestled and I won, like legit he was actually trying but I won hahhahahahahahahahahhahaha.

After he lost.

DUMINICA 11 DECEMBRIE
Sunday! We said hi to an old lady on the street and she talked to us for twenty minutes and then invited us to her house! So we're going there tomorrow. It was Alin's birthday. He gave us cake when we visited him (we visit every Sunday). Then we went to the târg and contacted. Then home.

LUNI 12 DECEMBRIE
Not much today. We cleaned everything and met with a girl named Ella and now we're emailing. Also, less than two weeks until Christmas. WHAT?

WEEK 20

How is it December?

The only pictures I took this week were selfies so I apologize in advance.

LUNI 28 NOIEMBRIE
So the only notable thing that happened on Monday that I didn't mention in last week's email is that Dragos texted us and said he regretted being baptized, and we haven't heard from him since. So that sucks.

MARTI 29 NOIEMBRIE
Tuesday we got to Skype with a member in Oradea (another city here) who's from the Dominican Republic because that is where Sora Letinu is going on her mission!  This member only speaks Spanish, so I kind of just sat there like "what is going on?" for an hour while Sora Letinu talked to her. Sora Yost was also there. It was cool. Then English. We had 40 people in our beginner class and 25 in our intermediate class. It was INSANE. But it went really well. Then we had an English student stay after to talk to us. She is a former investigator. 18 and knows where we live and told us stories of what the other missionaries did when she was investigating... yeah this mission has a pretty disobedient past. Also her English is perfect, accent included. And she walked us home. And went through 4 cigarettes in the ten minutes it takes to walk home. She was interesting.

MIERCURI 30 NOIEMBRIE
We bus-contacted for an hour and a half. I like buses. Even though Bacau is small enough that we really don't need to take the bus, they're still a nice way to talk to people since it's butt cold here and no one is ever outside. We went to visit one of our members. The branch president was there. I'm 99% sure they're getting married soon and it's SO EXCITING. Then for language study we read the Book of Mormon in three languages: me in Romanian, Sora Letinu in Spanish, and Yora Yost in French. It was fun.

JOI 1 DECEMBRIE
The first of December here is like our 4th of July. There was a parade.

It was fun. We met with Bianca and man oh man, I love that girl.  She's great.  We had hot chocolate in a really cute but also Dolores Imbridgey cafe and it was good but also I felt like a three year old at a tea party. We visited a member in the hospital; Had FHE--volleyball in our TINY branch building. It was fun but I guess my competitive/athletic side came out and I was intimidating? Oops. It was fun.

VINERI 2 DECEMBRIE
District meeting! Then tacos. I like Sora Kitchen's tortillas better than Sora Yost's but it's all okay. We had to go to the bank and then we rode buses for a few hours. Really slow day.

SAMBATA 3 DECEMBRIE
More english! We have so many people. It's insane. We went block-knocking and found a girl named Christina whose number was already saved in our phone. Crazy coincidence.  We hope something comes of it.

DUMINICA 4 DECEMBRIE
Basic sunday. Nothing special really. Sora Letinu packed and I took a nap, then we visited a friend in the hospital.

LUNI 5 DECEMBRIE
We dropped off Sora Letinu at the train station at 11 and then went to the mall to grab lunch and shop for a birthday present for one of our members. We went to her house and she gave us SO MUCH FOOD. That's why we're late emailing today. She kept us there FOREVER. She's awesome though.

Sorry this email was so lame. Our weeks have been soooo slow lately. Someone update me on sports please, and also music. pa!
